Long before the modern toothbrush, people cleaned their teeth with a siwak stick or walnut bark. This category brings together these traditional Middle Eastern habits and herbal toothpastes from India.

  • Siwak (miswak): natural chewing stick made from arak wood (Salvadora persica).
  • Souak: traditional North African walnut bark.
  • Herbal toothpastes: Dabur Red with clove, Dabur Miswak, fluoride-free clove toothpaste.

How to use a siwak

Remove about 1 cm of bark, chew the tip to separate the fibres, then gently rub your teeth. Cut off the used part every two or three days. A siwak complements, but does not replace, the routine recommended by your dentist.
