Akar fassi is a natural dye used for millennia mainly as a cosmetic. It is poppy powder and pomegranate peel, which we use as blush or even as lipstick for example. It is also used in certain treatments, creams and soaps. It is also called “dem el ghazal” which translates to gazelle blood. This name is due to the bright red color of the powder.
